Meetings

When do Not Alone meetings happen?

Not Alone meetings take place on the third Saturday of the month at noon Eastern Time.

How do Not Alone meetings work?

Not Alone meetings take place via Zoom. Participants are given a Zoom link that allows them to enter the Zoom room at the meeting time.

We have the following expectations for all meeting participants.

  1. Your presence at these meetings assumes that you will participate in some way. At first, that may be by introducing yourself and keeping your camera on. As time goes on, we encourage you to join the discussion and share your story as you are able. We completely understand how hard it is to talk about abuse and its effects. But the purpose of these meetings is to help you carry your burden. We can’t do that if you’re not willing to share your burden with us to some degree.
  2. We ask that you keep your camera on throughout the meeting. You can, however, choose whatever username you want.
  3. Be aware that, because of the small size of our church environment, you may encounter people you know (or who know you) in these meetings.
  4. Don’t let that scare you away, however. These meetings are safe places for all who participate. Everyone here has experienced something similar to what you’ve experienced. There is no shame or judgment here.
  5. All participants agree to keep all personal details and stories shared during the meetings confidential. Everything talked about here stays here.
  6. Our purpose is to provide a safe place for men who have experienced sexual abuse. However, because of the nature of what we’ll discuss, we cannot guarantee that our meetings will be free of all potential triggers. We will, however, emphasize the safety of this space and encourage practices that help participants deal with any emotions they experience during our discussions.
