About Not Alone
What is Not Alone?
Not Alone is a Christian online support community for men who have experienced sexual abuse. As many as 1 in 6 men are survivors of sexual abuse. Not Alone seeks to provide a safe place where male sexual abuse survivors can share their burden and be encouraged and supported in their healing journey.
Not Alone is NOT a therapy group. We encourage participants to work with a qualified mental health professional to receive necessary counseling in addition to the support we provide here.
Who coordinates Not Alone?
Steven Lange is the coordinator of Not Alone. He has served as the pastor of Hope Lutheran Church in Louisville, Kentucky, since 1998. He is also a survivor of childhood sexual abuse.
Steven experienced sexual abuse in his early teens. He lived with the effects of that abuse (without understanding that’s what they were) until 2021, when, at the urging of his wife, he began seeing a therapist. Since then, he has been on a healing journey that he knows will continue for the rest of his life.
Not Alone came out of Steven’s desire to help other men who have experienced sexual abuse know that they are not alone, that there is healing in Jesus, and that they do not have to carry their burden on their own. Steven believes that God redeems all things, including sexual abuse. He is grateful for the many people who are helping him carry his burden and wants to help other survivors find their own community of Christian burden-sharers.
