If you are a man who has experienced sexual abuse, you know what it is to feel alone. Abuse is not something people want to talk about. It’s ugly. It’s painful. It seems so much easier to just bury it and pretend it never happened. But it did happen. You feel its effects. And you feel as if you are completely alone, with no one to talk to, no one who could possibly understand, no one who could help you.
We at Not Alone understand how you’re feeling. We’re men who have experienced sexual abuse too. We’ve felt the shame. We’ve felt the isolation. We’ve felt the pain.
We’ve also discovered that there is healing in Jesus. There is healing in sharing our burdens. The isolation and shame we have felt are lies Satan uses to cut us off from the very help God wants us to have.
Not Alone exists to provide Christian community and support for male survivors of sexual abuse. We seek to put into action Paul’s encouragement to the Christians in Galatia: “Carry one another’s burdens; in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ” (Galatians 6:2 CSB). We do that through monthly online meetings where we gather for mutual encouragement and to point one another to Jesus, who is the ultimate source of our healing.
We invite you to explore our website to learn more about who we are and what we do. We also pray that you will join us for one of our meetings.
You are not responsible for what someone else did to you. You have no reason to be ashamed. You are loved. You are valuable. You are valued. You are not alone. Join us as we rest in Jesus’s love and the community of believers he has given to help us carry our burdens.
